celebrities about war with Iraq. I interviewed Pierce Brosnan, Anita Roddick,
Harry Enfield, Peter Gabriel, Terry Waite, Jack Dee, Beth Orton and many others.

content of the Students’ Union website, for all other publicity, press
releases, and recruitment of journalists.

I have written many news,
reviews and features articles for national and local newspapers, student and
business publications and websites, all of which I would be happy to pass on
if desired.
I am adept at providing crisp, tight, quality content to tight deadlines, and
my wealth of printed freelance work proves my talents as an adaptable, creative
and determined writer.
Whilst managing editor of the student newspaper, I persuaded my reporters to
go out around Brighton and find news, instead of waiting for information to
find us. I successfully transformed The Badger from a photocopied reviews-based
news sheet into a professional, popular newspaper, by recruiting and rigorously
training my team of dedicated student volunteers. I organised training for the
editors to be undertaken by Rachel Simmons, General Editor of the Weekend Telegraph,
and with my team of volunteers I attended Guardian and Telegraph Media Conferences
to gain a deeper understanding of the work of a national journalist. The media
surveys I designed and despatched to students demonstrated overwhelming satisfaction
with student media at Sussex University the year I oversaw student publications.

I love daring challenges and have walked on hot coals, and hitchhiked to Morocco for the charity Link Africa. I have always had a keen interest in politics and current affairs. As well as winning the sabbatical election at Sussex University in a landslide victory against four opponents, I also won a mock Newsround election for the Green Party at sixth form. On a personal level, I am confident, enthusiastic, and very hard working. I find it easy to relate to many different kinds of people.
